Hi! I am currently working as a senior creature modeler for ILM on Aquaman.
I recently wrapped a fun year working as a modeler and texture artist on Star Wars – The Last Jedi. I worked on the show for a year modeling creatures, characters, robots, sets, and texturing spaceships. I have also recently completed modeling creatures and characters, props, and sets for Valerian, Kong Skull Island, Suicide Squad, Alice 2, Pixels, Angry Birds, Hotel Transylvania 2, and Star Trek Into Darkness.
Previously I have worked as a senior modeler with Laika Studios, contributing main character work for the feature films Paranorman and The Boxtrolls. My credits also include senior modeling and texturing work at MPC London on films such as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (I and II), Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and Robin Hood. I have also authored a creature sculpting tutorial for Digital Tutors. Before MPC, I worked for four years at Sony Computer Entertainment creating characters for Playstation 3 games. I have also worked on several commercial projects.
Prior to my digital art career, I used his traditional art skills working for the theme parks Disney MGM and Universal Studios creating makeups for stage performances and sculpting/painting life size animatronic animals.
I grew up in a small town in Kentucky drawing Star Wars creatures and Garbage Pail Kids, and was heavily inspired by Sci-Fi and monster movies from the 1980′s. In 1999, I graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a degree in Industrial Design – a combination of product design, CG, and special makeup fx. I enjoy living in Vancouver and exploring B.C. with my wonderful wife and crazy dog.
